Welcome to week 4 of the spring term.
Over the past few weeks, we have gone through many challenges, but I am really pleased to say that we all seem to be coping with the changes and managing our new ‘normal’
Please see the link for your class timetables https://astreahillside.org/pupils/learning-zone/ it is wonderful to see so many children participating in the lessons and we thank you for encouraging your child to do this.
The Seesaw app is working really well for communication between the children and their teachers. We are receiving some wonderful work and the teachers are able to feedback. If you wish to discuss your child’s learning, please send a message through Parent App for them to contact you.
Where we have any concerns around children not engaging or not attending the online lessons, please expect a call/visit to discuss this from a member of the school staff. We are monitoring all children’s engagement very closely.
As you are aware, as part of our safeguarding duties we are required to carry out weekly welfare calls to each child not in school. Please expect a member of staff from school to be contacting you each week. It is vital that we touch base with you so that we can ensure that everyone is well and safe and we can be made aware and offer support for any issues you may have with online learning or with the lockdown situation in general.
Hampers were given out last week to those families in receipt of free school meals and a message has been sent from the office asking you to let us know whether you prefer hampers or vouchers going forward. Please inform the office if you have not already done so with your preference.
Please remember to visit our Twitter page – we would love to see some photographs of your home learning on there. https://twitter.com/astreahillside
Have a lovely week,
